Royal Wedding.....royal divorce?

There are series and then there are spectacular series and that what every single Harlequin Presents author gave to The Royal House of Karedes.

Dramatic and stunning is all I can say about the last book which is Carol Marinelli's contribution with The Desert King's Housekeeper Bride. It was so amazing that it kept be charged and up all night reading it and absolutely not wanting it to end. As I read the last three chapters my heart raced because I new it was going to end dramatically and it lived up to that emotion and so much more!

Knowing that you were going to be King of a country would be hard on any man but not this future King, this desert sheikh Zakari He can't wait but before he can rule his country Calista and take over the island Aristo he must find the missing pink Stefani diamond. Once he does that and he's very sure he will, he will rule both countries as Adamas as it once originally was before a bitter family feud. The desert always clears sheikh Zakari's head so that's where he's gone and he awaiting a maid from the palace to take personal care of him in everyway. However, she's becomes unavailable and in her place a palace maid is sent thinking she's going to clean and cook for him. Of course, this sexy and handsome sheikh has other ideas until he sees this prim, shy and curvy virgin.

Effie is a very sweet and sincere person, takes her duties at the palace very serious and misses her mother very much since she passed away. She loves her country but also has a love of Aristo where her mother once was a palace maid as well before leaving and arriving in the desert kingdom to live out her days in her little cottage. Effie has kept up on the politics of both countries and is aware Aristo's king cannot have his coronation until the missing diamond is found. She is hard working, honourable and wishes to serve her King but when she arrives to his desert tent what she sees is the most amazing and handsome King she's admired from afar. What she doesn't count on is liking him, spending time talking with him, sharing a meal and in the end having him seduce her.

Zahir is used to getting what he wants especially in bed. He doesn't make the time for kissing he only takes but on this occasion when he realizes that Effie is a virgin he makes sure it's perfect for her. What he doesn't realize is two things, 1) it's perfect for him as well and 2) later that evening she's wearing a gift from her mother, a necklace with a pink diamond the exact one he's looking for and he puts two and two together with Effie's stories about her mother. He realizes her mother had an affair with the King of Aristo and she's the result. He whisks her back to his palace, demands they marry, lies with words of love and then the next day destroys her when he tells her the news.

How can the man she loves sink so low by lying with words of love to get the diamond and end the end for one reason only to be the ruler of bother countries? Effie's devastated and the proud sheikh doesn't understand. He likes Effie, she gives him peace and soothes him and he believes she'll be a good Queen and mother of his children. She'll have power, money, everything her heart desires so how can she turn away from him?

Personally I wondered how any author could tie all of these books together, with the two countries, the different families and their own personal stories and Carol Marinelli did it brilliantly. The last chapters, the strong emotions, the uncertain, the heartbreak and the oh so surprising ending full of twists and turns, they had me on the edge of my seat and I thought absolutely brilliant. And then the teaser because not all of the mysteries surrounding these two dynasties were solved as there is still one missing person and Ms. Marinelli left one hoping and dangling at the same time. So if you're a fan of The Royal House of Karedes, Carol Marinelli's Wedlocked: Banished Sheikh, Untouched Queen might hold all of the answers. This will be part of her Dark-Heart Desert Men series.

Hmmmm...MAJOR SPOILERS!!!!

I did not like it that much. I understand he is a king but she was WAY too submissive. She let every one make her feel fat and frumpy and did nothing; the hero did nothing as well. He knew she was feeling badly about herself and saw how the clothes fit her that she was dressed in and he said not a word to the servants or her. I hated how the hero was CONSTANTLY thinking about how his mistress would please him at the beginning and that the heroine looked nice in that other woman's things, not to mention that he let her get dressed in other mistress' clothes for a date night after they had sex for the first time. He even thought the heroine was big and not pretty upon the first day's impressions and he had no instant connection with her. He also noticed another woman during the time when the heroine was not giving him sex and was even hard as the other woman flirted with him and he even said that all he had to do to get release was smile at the woman but then he said that the only one he wanted was the heroine. I do not like that he even noticed someone other than the heroine and got aroused from it, that was annoying. The only part where she shows her backbone was after she found out about the real reason he wanted to marry her. I did love how she did not melt at his touch. Most heroines become a withering body of hormones when their heroes touch them, forgetting that they are angry at that moment, but not this one. She let the hero touch her because he was her husband and king and her body may have wanted to give in, but even after the hero started to actually have sex with her, she laid there and did not move until he gave up. He did not touch her again until they were reunited. I did like that she became strong towards the end and that the hero was extremely worried about her when she left the palace. I actually felt bad for the hero because when he finally realized he loved her, he had already betrayed her love and trust so anything he said or did made her think he was lying and just trying to get the jewel back from her again.

The book was alright. It seemed like a lot of hurt feelings of course could have been avoided if someone just decided to open their mouth and communicate (although isnt that the problem with lots of relationships :)) I think its okay for another quick read but there are other books out there that are much better!!!

A valuable, practical and effective book. Gives you results same day.

I buy many of self help books, maybe a dozen or more / year, and discard over 95% of them almost immediately. I buy so many because if just one is effective it can bring tremendous results, so the small cost of buying a few dozen that get binned is trivial.

This book is one of the keepers, and is one of my top three of all time*. The author is no wooly brained pinko Guardian reading emoting mug who is a stranger to hard work and concrete results. Sandy MacGregor served in the Australian Army in Vietnam and was decorated for his tunnel fighting, and is also a trained engineer.

This book is about how to control and enjoy your mind better. It includes effective techniques for relaxation and focusing. These are simple, memorable, effective and safe.

I recommend this book highly.

'If you enjoy running, like I do, this book is for you. I love to run and as a strength coach, I made it a point to create a program that would allow me to run as much as I wanted to after the injuries I had playing football. I had broken a leg and ruptured my Achilles- twice- and even though I completed the required rehab, I still experienced limitations whenever I would run.
 
I tried many different things to help me run again and also reduce the risk of injury. Then I found PreHab through a seminar with NSCA and I was able to run again - and run fast.
 
PreHab brought my focus in training to my own biomechanics- how well was I actually moving to begin with, and I quickly saw how my body was still compensating for my past injuries. Quickly, I change up my approach.
 
Instead of training harder, I began to focus on the quality of movements. I selected a host of PreHab exercises to improve my alignment and mobility. Then I focused on Activating essential muscles and creating more stability in my Gait. In a very short time, PreHab helped me to run again and run fast like I used to!
 
I wrote the PreHab Exercise Book for Runners to help other people have the same success as I did. About the Author
Michael Rosengart is a Strength Coach and has been coaching athletes and training clients since 2000. Michael loves helping people achieve success! His training method places a large focus on PreHab exercises and techniques, because preparation is a key ingredient to a great performance. Michael was introduced to PreHab through a seminar with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. 'It's a method of preparing to perform by focusing on how the body moves,' Michael says. PreHab exercises aim to improve Alignment, Mobility, Activation, Stability and Strength. 
Michael attempts to streamline PreHab for runners in his book, the PreHab Exercise Book for Runners. He uses his own exercise illustrations in order to help the reader understand the  form and alignment. He also provides personal narratives to help explain exercise techniques because he wants people to understand the 'why' behind the 'how.' 
'I write these books,' Michael says, 'because I love movement and there is nothing more amazing than a person moving very well and performing at a high level. In addition to that, I love helping people achieve their goals- be triumphant. For example, one of my clients was a fifty-one year old investment banker, who was recovering from a partially torn Patella tendon. He said he just wanted to run again without pain. Well, we got him to run a 5K in only a couple of weeks of working together and that really ignited a deeper drive in him. 5 months later, he completed his third triathlon since we started working together and he complete the 10K of that race at a faster pace than his first 5K with me. In other words, he double his distance and lowered his time after completing the swim and bike portions- with no pain. It's stories like this that I love coaching!'

Paradigm shifting

I've been doing prehab with Michael's program for over a year now and his book is a daily must for me. I have a job that I sit at a desk for many hours a day, like most people, and this book provides me the tools and know how to keep my running performance going in the right direction. I've tackled several ailments in my hip, my knee, and my back that weren't particularly severe but were limiting my ability to train. This takes a whole solution approach to getting the body back to a functional performance level This book has given me performance increases all while training less (due to time constraints from my job). The trainers i know and have worked with also agree that this is a must for athletes of any level to maximize efficiency and performance, so i'm pretty confident in the methods. I'm not so sure about the title of the book though because it seems to limit it to just runners. It can really work for any athlete, or non athlete for that matter.

About the Author
Dana Claxton is a Canadian interdisciplinary artist of Lakota Sioux descent. Her work includes film and video, installation and performance art, and centres on concerns of beauty, justice, autonomy and spirit. She is represented in public collections, has been shown internationally, and has received numerous awards including the VIVA Award from the Doris and Jack Shadbolt Foundation for her commitment to contemporary art in Vancouver; and in 2007 became an Eiteljorg Fellow sponsored by the Ford Foundation. She has held positions as Adjunct Professor at Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design, Vancouver; Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History, Visual Art and Theory at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver; 2009/10 Ruth Wynn Woodward Endowed Chair in Women's Studies at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby; and was a founding director of the Indigenous Media Arts Group, Vancouver.

3 beautiful girls were murdered

This book & the movie will make you cry. Three beautiful little girls were at girl scout camp & some @#$%^&* man raped & killed all of them. He broke into their tent & killed them. They were just babies, sleeping in their tent at the girl scout camp. Because the killer was famous and an Indian he was found not guilty but a Indian leader said that if he was guilty he would pay & a year later he died of a heart attack. He was not old.

When I was a small girl growing up in Oklahoma I wanted to be like my grandfatherwho was osbi(he thought gene leroy hart was innocent) I was also a girl scout and thought this book was a thrill ride for myself and loved it enough to read it several times....A+

This textbook has a lot of useful information in it... but it can still be utterly boring and useless since it is a textbook.

I would say it is one of the better ones I was forced to use since reading it went somewhat quickly.

Some of it is a little bit more common sense than the author lets on.
